Animoto

This Animoto is to prepare students for whats to come and give a little bit of background information on the topics of linear equations, system of linear equations, quadratic equations, and graphing all of these. It gives the different forms that students can find the linear equations in and different ways to solve them. It also shows examples of the two different ways to solve system of linear equations. The quadratic equation is shown that it can be solved three different including factoring, completing the square, and using the quadratic formula. Finally the last part of this Animoto gives a few examples of of graphing each of the different types of problems that are being solved.

Glogster

This is a great way to bring information together to help the students work with quadratic equations and different ways to solve the problems. This can be used for an overview of the upcoming section and the important things to remember as one goes upon completing quadratic equations. Quadratic equations can be difficult, but with examples explained out in the videos, students have the chance to see how others complete quadratic equations.

Prezi

This Prezi is a good tool that can be used in the classroom as a replacement for power point, as a introduction to a topic, and as a conclusion for a topic. It can help the students learn the information in a different way then they are use too, therefore they might pay attention more about the lesson.

Quizlet

This is a good way to have help students understand the different equations that are given with linear and quadratic functions. It shows different examples of ways a equation can be shown, and how the graphs differ between linear and quadratic equations.

Voice Thread

The grade level for this Voice Thread is 10th grade and the subject matter is mathematics. The objective of this narrative is to get the students thinking about parabolas and how they are seen in the world around us. It helps them to think outside of the math world and into the real world while still dealing in the math aspect. This Voice Thread also allows them to complete all the steps in finding the intercepts and the vertex and then graphing them to create the parabola. The content in this presentation deals with quadratic equations, the quadratic formula, finding the vertex of a parabola, and graphing the quadratic equation.
